Northeast Library Closed for Renovation

The Northeast Library is now closed for renovation. Move out of library materials and furniture will take a few weeks after which, construction fencing will be set up around the site.

During the closure, hours at the Southeast Library have been expanded. Hours are:

M, W, F, Sa:  9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tu, Th:  9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sun: Closed

In addition, the new Rosedale Library, at 1701 Gales Street NE, opens October 15.

View Final Designs

Final designs were shared with the community at a meeting of the Friends of the Northeast Library on June 27. View the plans here.

Revised Floor Plans

Preliminary designs were presented at the Friends of the Northeast Library meeting on Monday, March 19. Based on feedback at that meeting, a possible alternate plan was developed. Both of these plans were submitted to the Historic Preservation Office as part of the submission process for historic projects.

Northeast Library Proposed Floor Plans

The Northeast Neighborhood Library is being renovated. The architect presented preliminary designs for the $10 million project at a meeting of the Friends of the Northeast Library on March 19.
